Sex Differences in Vocabulary: A Longitudinal Study of British Three through Fourteen Year Olds

Abstract

This study reports data from the UK Millennium Cohort Study for vocabulary size of 3, 5 and 14 years olds. The results show that girls had a significantly higher average vocabulary than boys at the ages of 3 and 5 years but not at the age of 14 years. Keywords: Sex differences, Vocabulary, Age
