Cognitive Abilities, Democracy and Software Piracy: A Note

Abstract
The aim of this research note is to explore the relationship between cognitive abilities and software piracy rates in a sample of more than 100 nations. The results reported in this paper suggest that cognitive capital reduces software piracy rates. This effect is observed primarily in societies at higher levels of economic and political development.
